Anne Burrell

Anne W. Burrell has been a chef and television host in America as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts Secrets of a Restaurant Chef on the Food Network and the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and her pumped-up appearance, Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of restaurant dishes and reveals simple, easy-to-learn techniques to cook at home on her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell is also a part of some of New York's top restaurants, has been studying the Italian food and culture and has was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Early on, while growing up in New York's upstate region, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. The Culinary Institute of America has sparked her interest in restaurant management after she earned an English/Communications diploma at Canisius College Buffalo NY. The Culinary Institute of America was an amazing experience for me. It was impossible to learn, do or work enough. After graduating at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners, chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant located in Umbria as well as La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. She gained a deeper understanding of Italian food and culture while in Italy that has informed her cooking style. Burrell was an Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board participant, with the goal of to increase living conditions for children facing challenges. Burrell also serves as a Juvenile Disease Research Foundation celebrity spokesperson and promotes awareness about children's diabetes. Burrell travels extensively across the United States in her position as both a mentor and public speaker in which she speaks about her career and love of cooking. Anne has said during her career in the kitchen she's grateful to communicate with people what is essential for her.
